My love of hand held history started when I was allowed to hold an old Walking Liberty half dollar from my grandpa's coin collection. Through the wonder of a child's imagination, I looked through his collection. Exotic animals, strange faces, and interesting buildings were memorialized on currency. I felt like I was in my grandpa's private museum and I became amazed with the time capsules I held in my hand. As I grew older I began collecting  interesting 'smalls' headed for landfills to use for art projects, and  I began learning how to repair some of these treasures so that they were usable again. 

History doesn't only live in museums. It lives and breathes all around us and belongs to everyone. Numismanics' mission is to keep restorable and upcyclable items out of the landfills.
